Did you know that people in the U.S. categorize fried eggs into four different degrees depending on how they’re cooked? Me not being from the United States, this was news to me! However you like your fried eggs, this page helps you find the best non stick egg pan for hassle-free, perfect fried eggs and omelets.
Fried eggs and omelets feature heavily in Thai food, whether as essential toppings for stir-fried holy basil to as a meal of their own served with chili dip.

Best Non Stick Egg Pan
I’ve selected four different pans that I consider to be candidates for the best non stick egg pan. From these four options, the best overall non-stick egg pan is the 8-inch Tramontina Professional Fry Pan.
The below table makes it easy for you to quickly view the best pans in different categories.
Image | Product Name | Best For | Buy | Star Rating |
---|---|---|---|---|
MyLifeUNIT Aluminum 4-Cup Egg Frying Pan | Novelty | CHECK PRICE ON AMAZON | 4.5/5 | |
Tramontina Professional Fry Pan (8-inch) | Overall Quality | CHECK PRICE ON AMAZON | 4.75/5 | |
Calphalon Omelete Fry Pan (10-inch) | Cooking Omeletes | CHECK PRICE ON AMAZON | 4.25/5 | |
Copper Chef Non-Stick fry Pan (8-inch) | Versatility | CHECK PRICE ON AMAZON | 4/5 |
The reason I chose four instead of one is that you might have different opinions or criteria for me about what means “best”.
The pans I chose are as follows:
- 8-Inch Tramontina Professional Fry Pan – Best Overall
- 8-Inch Copper Chef Non-Stick Fry Pan – Most Versatile
- Calphalon Omelet Fry Pan – Best Omelet Pan
- MyLifeUNIT Egg Frying Pan – Best Novelty Pan
Let’s move on to take a more detailed look at each of these pans and why I recommend them.
1. Tramontina Professional 8-Inch Fry Pan
Best Overall
The Tramotina is the best overall in terms of performance for both frying eggs and omelets. The non-stick coating is one of the best around…you’ll have no broken omelets or egg white stuck to the pan.
The rubber handle is good aswell; it doesn’t get hot during cooking. The heavy-duty aluminum feels study.
However, this pan has less durability than expected. Despite being apparently dishwasher safe, a dishwasher will rapidly degrade the non stick coating.
Overall a top quality frying pan and worth the money if you can maximize its longevity by avoiding the dishwasher.
Pros
✓ Superb PFOA-free nonstick performance
✓ Safe for your oven up to 400 F (204 C)
✓ Heavy-gauge aluminum gives a robust, sturdy pan
✓ Nifty rubber handle
Cons
❌ Marketed as dishwasher safe but dishwashers degrade the coating
❌ Durability could be better
2. Copper Chef 8-Inch Non Stick
Most Versatile
Being honest, I tend not to really like the kind of copper-color finish you get with this brand. However, that’s just personal preference…each to their own and all that. Performance-wise, this is another solid pan and the most versatile on the list.
The main attraction is its versatility. This pan performs equally well on several types of stovetops. This might be useful if you cook with gas at home but you have a portable induction hob for camping trips or vacations.
This non-stick egg pan heats up extremely quickly. And you don’t need much oil at all.
It also cleans very easily; one or two wipes with a kitchen towel and you wouldn’t even know an egg was just cooked in it!
Even though it doesn’t have a lid included, you can order an 8-inch copper pan lid separately that fits this perfectly.
Because of the incredibly affordable price, the longevity of Copper Chef’s pan isn’t great. With heavy use, expect around 6-12 months out of it. But in the price range of $15 or less, that’s not really a bad deal, to be honest.
Pros
✓ Performs really well on electric, induction, ceramic & gas stovetops
✓ Toxin-free: No PTFE or PFOA
✓ Stainless steel induction plate gives even heat distribution
✓ Cost-friendly
Cons
❌ Non-stick doesn’t last long
❌ A bit difficult to clean
3 Calphalon Omelet Fry Pan
Best Omelet Pan
Calphalon is a highly respected brand. The quality of the omelets you can make in this pan are second to none. There is an extra oxide layer on the cooking surface, giving it great “nonstickability”. The lifetime warranty is also very generous. You can safely put the pan in the oven, which for me is good because I often finish my omelets off in the oven.
One important drawback for me is that this pan feels lighter than the Calphalons I’m used to. The handle also gets a bit too hot during cooking sometimes.
Pros
✓ A surface reinforced with an oxide layer makes it exceptionally durable
✓ Calphalon provides a lifetime warranty for the pan
✓ Safe to put in the oven up to 450 F ( 232 C)
✓ Quick and easy to clean
Cons
❌ Handle gets quite hot during cooking
❌ Unexpectedly light for this brand
4 MyLifeUNIT Egg Frying Pan
The reason I classify this as a novelty pan is due to its distinguished look. If you want a quirkier design, MyLifeUNIT has your back with four distinct cavities in the pan for frying eggs in. The pan does make very good fried eggs so it lives up to its primary purpose.
One interesting aspect is that this pan is more versatile than it first appears. You can actually make delicious cute omelets in the cavities and even some pancakes.
If I had to pick out some drawbacks, I would say that turning your eggs can be very tricky. Personally, I don’t flip my eggs to finish them off. I prefer finishing my eggs by spooning the hot oil or fat in the pan over the top of them.
Pros
✓ You can cook some perfectly sized fried eggs
✓ Makes cute individual omelets that are great for quick breakfasts
✓ You can make pancakes in it too!
✓ Affordable price
Cons
❌ Very hard to flip your eggs
❌ Non-stick performance could be better
What type of pan is best for eggs?
The most important thing to look for is a non stick pan. There’s nothing worse than creating a perfect sunny side-up egg or a tasty omelet only for the egg to stick to the base of the cooking surface.
The actual material out of which the pan is made is another crucial consideration. Some pans, no matter how well marketed as ‘non stick’, end up being too sticky to cook eggs on.
Personally, I will only ever cook eggs in a pan composed of the following materials:
- Aluminum
- Copper
- Teflon
Before you wonder why I’m recommending Teflon despite its well-publicized toxic PFOA emissions, it’s important to understand that Teflon products manufactured since 2013 have not contained PFOA. Wellness blogs make a fortune from continuing to say that Teflon is unhealthy. But it’s just not true.
What causes eggs to stick to pans?
There are three main reasons eggs might stick to pans:
- The pan is not non stick
- You didn’t use enough fat or oil to fry your eggs in
- Your pan is old and degraded
Point number 3 and 1 are self-explanatory. For number 2, I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve read people complaining online about their eggs sticking to the pan. When asked if they use fat or oil for frying, they reply that they haven’t used anything. Well, duh!
What to use to keep eggs from sticking to pans?
Always use either butter, coconut oil, olive oil, or any other cooking oil. Don’t use cooking spray because, to be honest, it just won’t give you good results.
What size is an egg pan?
There is a balance needed in terms of size for a dedicated egg pan. You want a pan that lets you fry two eggs simultaneously and is large enough to cook an omelet. In my experience, opting for a pan with a diameter of 8-10 inches is perfect.
You can buy smaller, quite tiny, 4.5-inch pans solely for frying eggs, but I personally don’t really feel they are worth it. These tiny pans are more of a novelty thing. An 8-inch or 10-inch diameter creates gorgeous fluffy omelets and perfectly fried eggs.
That just about wraps up this resource page highlighting the best egg pans (non stick). Hopefully, one of these four products will suit your needs.
