A Heritage Steel Cookware Review

I don’t use much stainless steel in my kitchen (unless the spoons and forks I eat yummy Thai food with count!) However, a company named Heritage Steel caught my eye admittedly by appealing to the tech-minded part of my brain with their fancy-sounding terms like 5-Ply and 316Ti. This is a Heritage Steel cookware review focusing on the 10-piece 316Ti  set.

So, what the hecky decky are 5-Ply and 316Ti?

Both of these terms relate to the stainless steel build of the cooking equipment. 5-Ply construction means that each pot and pan uses 5 layers of metal for extra strength, durability, and more efficient heating.

The 316Ti refers to the interior layer of steel on the Heritage products. This type of steel resists corrosion, is simple to clean, and gives an inert cooking surface that maximizes the flavor of your food.

So, to start, what do you the get out of the box in this 10-piece collection?

  • 1.5 quart saucepan with lid
  • 3 quart saucepan with lid
  • 4 quart sauté pan with lid
  • 10.5-inch frying pan with lid

So, a pretty standard collection. It’s worth noting that the lids are actually also stainless steel. This might bug some of you who prefer glass lids for checking on the progress of dishes.

But there’s no doubt that it’s aesthetically a better option to keep everything steel, and this set looks the part. The pots and pan are positively glistening

As far as heat distribution goes, the fancy 5-ply build really shines through here. This sturdy design results in a wonderfully consistent and even distribution of heat with no hot spots.

Stainless steel has always had the tricky potential problem of scorched food resulting in tough to remove stains. With professional-grade 5-ply cookware, this problem with stainless steel is non-existent. The Heritage set is incredibly easy to clean. It’s also dishwasher safe, which is always nice.

Another huge benefit that you might like about this set is that it is 100% USA-made from a family-owned business located in Tennessee. If you are someone who prefers to support local businesses rather than imported and often cheaply made products, the extra cost of this set is worth it for you.

Lastly, these saucepans and pots are improbably durable. In fact, Heritage Steel offers a lifetime warranty, such is the company’s confidence in its set as a one-time investment.

So, here is a quick recap of the pros of this professional-grade collection:

✅ Looks fantastic

✅Superb heat distribution

✅Very easy to clean

✅High-quality USA made steel

✅Both oven-safe and dishwasher safe

Any Negatives?

In terms of any negative aspects to this Heritage steel cookware review, the one glaring one is the price. This is not a cheap set. This is a set you buy yourself if cooking is a huge hobby or you buy as a wedding gift for a friend or loved one. Think premium and professional-grade equipment here.

The small compromise for this set is that you can get a Five-piece Essentials set for half the cost of the 10-piece one reviewed here. It’s also possible to test the waters by buying individual items.

In Closing

Heritage Steel has come up trumps with a premium US-made stainless steel cookware set that offers fantastic performance for a lifetime. It’ll cost you, but it’ll probably be worth it if you enjoy cooking with steel or you want to make someone happy.
